For more than 30 years I have been writing and reading about people.  Born in Stephenville, NL, Canada I left school and like all good Newfoundlanders I moved to Toronto.  After one year there I decided to go back to Newfoundland to go to university.  I did a Diploma of Applied Arts in Community Studies and Project Management as it offered so many things I was interested in and gave me an opportunity to practise my leadership skills.  Once I completed this two year program I went to Memorial University and obtained a BA and MA in the social sciences (psychology and sociology).  As a sociologist I continued to study people and was able to obtain several research grants that enabled me to sharpen my skills.  I spent five years working in labour relations and then became Canada's Representative for the European Community Visitor's Programme traveling to Brussels, Sweden and Portugal meeting with public dignitaries to discuss labour's role in education and social and economic development.  I then moved on to British Columbia where I continued to do research and put my media and organizational skills to use in the music industry where I did public relations and administration for one of the largest music festival's in western Canada.   I returned to Newfoundland once again long enough to give birth to my son Jacob Vaughn Trask.  Mastering the art of motherhood I went to Toronto where I worked in administration in the Midwifery Program at Ryerson University.  I returned again to Newfoundland in 2001 to begin my teaching career at the College of the North Atlantic.  As a life long learner I have obtained many certifications in human development, management, crisis intervention, and suicide intervention.  I have completed numerous courses online and attended many workshops and seminars to further develop my knowledge and skills.  I worked with Dr. Joe Vitale receiving certifications in mastering self-esteem building for adults and for children; I completed several workshops with Callan Rush who is the master of workshop marketing and speaking from the stage; I have a coaching certification with the Canadian Federation of Coaches and most recently I am studying with Bob Proctor and Sandra Gallagher with the Proctor Gallagher Institute.  After attending The Matrixx Program which is a week long program for ultimate goal and achievement transformation, I became a consultant with PGI for their Internationally acclaimed coaching program Thinking into Results.   To fulfill my life long goal of becoming an author I studied with Peggy McColl completing several of her programs in writing, promoting, and selling books.  I am in the process of developing a series called Life Lessons from the Field.  Now that my first book The Gratitude Attitude has been released, I am writing a book on suicide which I intend to release in the fall of 2017 and help raise money for suicide prevention initiatives.  As a Certified Suicide Intervention Trainer I developed a passion for suicide prevention and subsequently founded Community Minders in 2013 to help create a suicide safer community in central Newfoundland.  In 2015 I founded Exploits Valley Positive Thinkers Club to help people get exposure to speakers who inspire, educate and bring a positive approach to life in the community.  I am the first Certified Proctor Gallagher Institute - Thinking into Results Consultant in Atlantic Canada.  My goal is to introduce Atlantic Canada to this valuable information so that people can work on changing their lives and achieving their goals.  It excites me to be able to help people improve their life and their personal and professional relationships.  This program facilitates goal attainment for organizations and increases the bottom line for companies. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!  My goal is to help people be the best that they can be!
